Short Biography
Hi there! I'm a front-end and experience designer living near Philadelphia. I work at the University of Pennsylvania. I also do a bit of freelance work when the project seems interesting. I'm a native Missourian and live with my wonderful wife, son, dog, two cats, and a fish. I've lived in the Philadelphia area since 1994 and received my Bachelor of Science from Temple University.
I'm a former Marine, kind of a home-body, and dork. When not working, I like to: run, lift weights, bike, write, or take photos for my photography blog. I love Apple products, 80s Raleigh bicycles, Vibram Five Fingers, Mexican food, and beef stew.
I Like to Work on the Web!
I think that an important part of presenting myself to a potential client is to first define my design aesthetic. I like big pictures, that display a window into another's world, and clean, simple, layout designs. Sections should be clearly delineated and ripe for easy perusing of information. Sites should be well organized and clearly labeled for navigation. All of the media on the page should be as accessible as possible on a wide range of current devices. All code should be well-formed, valid, and portable. At the end of the day, everything should just work without need for explanation or excuses.
Sticking to simple, well-formed, valid, and clean designs will culminate in a happier client and audience. Click on the email link at the bottom of the page to contact me.
